An evening both sacred and sublime can be expected from these award-winning British consort singers. The versatility of The Gesualdo Six is demonstrated by their albums, among them English Motets, which showcases their virtuosic vocals with a nod to the 14th-16th centuries; Fading, paying homage to the ancient service of Compline and awarded Vocal Recording of the Year by Limelight; Josquin’s Legacy, celebrating High Renaissance composer Josquin des Prez and which Gramophone’s editor recommended “unreservedly”; and Tenebrae Responsories, taking inspiration from the shadows of Holy Week’s Tenebrae services.
